About the Author

Doug Wallace was born in Big Rock, Tennessee, to an alcoholic father and battered mother. At an early age, Doug made a promise to his mother that he would find a way to escape the bonds of poverty that had gripped his family for generations. This book is the story of how he accomplished that feat, eventually earning his law degree and starting a law firm that became the largest in its specialty in the United States. He is now retired and lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife. His three children have all earned their own post-graduate degrees, a fact of which Doug is very proud.
