As part of the Willie Handcart Company in 1856, Levi Savage feared that leaving late in the season would lead to despair and death. What he came to find out on that fateful journey is that for every tragedy there is a multitude of miracles. Based on the blockbuster movie, 17 Miracles, this book provides additional details about the extraordinary events highlighted in the movie and the pioneers who experienced them firsthand. Drawing from years of research about the handcart company s experience on the Mormon Trail, this book also includes stories of other miracles that occurred during that arduous trek, some behindthe- scenes glimpses into the making of the movie, and reflections from actual descendants of the Martin and Willie Handcart Companies.
