The death of Che Guevara... by the author of The Notorious Dream of Jesús Lázaro and New York....
"Her mother, Alma, had told her about him, how he deserved being hunted down by the soldiers out there in the Yuro Ravine. And so Ofelia had thought quite a bit about Seńor Guevara."
1967. The world-renowned Che Guevara, who brought Fidel Castro to power in Cuba, has been abandoned and captured. During the moments he and Ofelia have with each other, each discovers the possibility for love in a time of terrible war.
"Terence Clarke is a formidable and engaging writer who approaches themes with attention to details, cultural sensitivity, and compelling narrative. His craft is the word, and he excels at that."
--Roberto Cabello-Argandońa, Executive Editor, Florícanto Press

So much has been written about Che Guevara that the books and articles gathered together could be housed in an enormous library of their own. Sadly, very little of this work is fiction. This book of mine tells of the emotion, for good or ill, that such controversial figures must carry in their hearts. --Terence Clarke
Terence Clarke is the director of publishing at Astor & Lenox. He is also the author of the novel The Notorious Dream of Jesús Lázaro and the story collection Little Bridget and The Flames of Hell. His non-fiction book, An Arena of Truth: Human Conflict in Black and White, about a seminal education program in methods of direct racial confrontation (with a foreword by the co-author of Black Rage, Dr. Price M. Cobbs,) will be published in February 2019. Clarke lives in San Francisco.
