About the Author

Michael A. Black has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Fine Arts in fiction writing from Columbia College, Chicago. He is the author of fourteen books and over seventy short stories and article. Two of his early books were nonfiction works to encourage literacy for reluctant hight school readers. The rest of his books have been novels. His Ron Shade series, featuring a Chicago-based private detective who is also a professional kickboxer, has won numerous awards, as have his police procedural series. Black, a longtime police officer in the Chicago area, brings his expertise and experience to his fiction. He has also co-written two novels with television star Richard Belzer of TV's Law & Order, SVU. Black is currentl working on a political thriller as well as several other projects.
