About the Author

Keith was born in Durham, North Carolina in 1971 but was raised in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He attended Hobart College in Geneva, New York. He is an editor for The New York Times, and lives in Westchester with his wife, Jessica, and his daughters, Grace and Margot.

He is the author of Ghostfires, The Art of Losing, and Cooking for Gracie, a memoir based on food writing first published in The New York Times.

At 25, he is booted out of Bucknell when the IRS seizes the fund that was paying his tuition. Hired as a lifeguard at the country club where his longtime love, Sally Godstreet, is executive chef, Jake is offered the management position that Sally thinks is intended for her, forcing Jack to choose between money and love—unless he takes a shady deal with more strings attached than he could have suspected. Levels of suspense and danger ratchet up, with nice plot twists along the way, as Jake attempts to find a way out of the morass. Dixon (The Art of Losing, 2007) creates fully dimensional characters who must deal with a reality that isn’t pretty and that ultimately leaves its mark on them.
