About the Author
CARMEN ACEVEDO BUTCHER, PhD, is a Lecturer in the College Writing Programs at the University of California, Berkeley. She was Carnegie Professor of the Year, a Senior Fulbright lecturer at Sogang University in Seoul, and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of London. She has published widely in linguistics (with John Algeo), in medieval and Old English, and in mystical classics from Latin, Middle English, and other languages.
