Synopsis
How the Hindenburg went from luxury airship to gargantuan fireball wasn’t the only mystery surrounding the zeppelin’s fatal flight. First came the murder.
When a passenger vanishes during the Hindenburg’s trans-Atlantic voyage from Frankfurt to New Jersey, mystery writer Leslie Charteris is asked to use his knowledge of the criminal mind to quietly pinpoint the killer. About the Author
Max Allan Collins is the New York Times best-selling author of Road to Perdition and multiple award-winning novels, screenplays, comic books, comic strips, trading cards, short stories, movie novelizations, and historical fiction. He has scripted the Dick Tracycomic strip, Batman comic books, and written tie-in novels based on the CSI, Bones, and Dark Angel TV series; collaborated with legendary mystery author Mickey Spillane; and authored numerous mystery series including Quarry, Nolan, Mallory, Eliot Ness, and the bestselling Nathan Heller historical thrillers. In 1937, the zeppelin Hindenburg leaves Germany on its fateful flight, with numerous passengers, includ-ing Leslie Charteris, creator of The Saint mysteries, SS officers, and many others. Charteris becomes embroiled in an investigation to discover who has planted a bomb on the zeppelin and when it will go off. Charlie O'Dowd's enthusiastic performance is reflected in the pace of his words as he delivers the exciting action scenes. Collins has created a fast-talking 1930s mystery replete with interesting characters and plot twists. The production is marred only by decreased volume when the dialogue is delivered, but O'Dowd's emotional involvement in the story moves it along.
