About the Author:
Paolo Bacigalupi is a Hugo and Nebula Award Winner, and a National Book Award Finalist. He is also a Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award Winner, a John W. Campbell Award Winner, and a three-time winner of the Locus Award. His short fiction has appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine, and High Country News. Paolo lives in western Colorado with his wife and son. Ship Breaker is his first novel for young adults.

When he discovers a wrecked clipper ship with one survivor, the daughter of a wealthy shipping company owner, Nailer becomes involved in even greater dangers when he decides to rescue her. The author does a fantastic job of world building in this National Book Award Finalist. Narrator Joshua Swanson makes this harsh dystopian world all too believable. He adjusts the pacing to fit the intensity of the action and gives each character a voice that fits his or her personality.
