From D'burg to Jerusalem chronicles the author's journalistic adventures from the most trivial – the painting of the town garage roof in Duanesburg – to the most far-reaching – religious nationalism in Jerusalem, visiting along the way police corruption, the power of teachers' unions, the sexual abuse (or non-abuse) of children, Christian fundamentalism, and more. These are the stories that Carl Strock explored in his newspaper column, brought together for the first time, with a trajectory that goes up and up – until it suddenly goes down.
Reviews
“We always urged Carl to write a book. Now he’s done it and even more people will get to enjoy and appreciate his deep sense of justice and fair play. He has provided hope and comfort to many people in our community who need to help trying to with officials who are often blinded by aggressive ambition, ignorance and even pigheadedness.”
