Synopsis

From Alaska to the Bahamas, Panama to The Seychelles, Pat Ford knows where to find the best places to go fly fishing. In Fly-Fishing Daydreams, Ford and his camera capture the most exciting adventures in the sport, from great sailfishing expeditions in Guatemala to Atlantic salmon-finding missions on the icy waters of Russia’s Kola Peninsula. In each far-flung locale, Ford recounts his unforgettable fish tales and illuminates them with spectacular full-color photography, putting the reader right there in their waders beside him. The result is a book that enables readers to live out their fly fishing dreams.

Complete with 300 full-color photographs, a foreword by legendary fly fisherman and author Lefty Kreh, a preface by Mike Myatt, chief operating officer of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), and a special chapter on digital photography basics for anglers, Fly-Fishing Daydreams is a book no lover of fly fishing should be without.

About the Author

Pat Ford’s passion for photography began in the early 1960s while he was a student at the University of Notre Dame. After attending Columbia Law School and while serving in the Navy JAG Corps, Ford was stationed in Pensacola and then Key West, where he turned his love of fly fishing to salt water. An active member of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), he has held sixteen fly rod world records. Ford wrote his first article for Salt Water Sportsman magazine in 1969 and has been contributing to most major fishing magazines ever since. The author of The Best Fly Fishing Trips Money Can Buy and Fly-Fishing Daydreams, he is a regular contributor to IGFA’s Annual Yearbook and Fly Fishing in Salt Water magazine. He lives in Miami, Florida.

Lefty Kreh's name is synonymous with world-class fly fishing. He is the winner of numerous awards, including the American Sportfishing Association's Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1991, Lefty was honored by the U.S. Postal Service with a postage stamp bearing the image of his famous "Deceiver" fly. He lives in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
