Gr 3-5-These books combine bright graphics with a clear layout to suggest work opportunities for children too young for traditional employment. Each of the three selections focuses on skills utilized in various environments. Much of the information is replicated from one entry to the next. Succinct sentences examine the necessity of adult influence when beginning new jobs, and marketing ideas give youngsters specific direction. Crisp photographs of multicultural children add immediacy to the straightforward texts. Each book includes a chapter on "Be Smart, Be Safe," "Getting the Word Out," and "What Can You Do with Your Money?" and a glossary, though its simplicity fails to provide a comprehensive perspective. "Sensitive," for example, is defined as "embarrassed or ashamed."
