Most of us have experienced a time where we have learned a financial principle or tool and said, I wish I had learned that before I entered the real world! Joseph Sangl used to be broke until he resolved to learn everything he possibly could about good financial management. In his first book, I Was Broke. Now I m Not., Joe shares his journey and the tools he used to become financial free. In this new book, Joe equips young people with the practical principles and tools that will help them avoid making major financial mistakes. Many of us have made financial mistakes and we know how hard it is to CURE them. Joe s goal with What Everyone Should Know About Money Before They Enter THE REAL WORLD is to help PREVENT the mistakes in the first place! Reviewers of this book have expressed a consistent theme this book is applicable to young people and they wish they had read a book like this when they were just entering the real world. Another surprising theme has emerged, however. People who have been in the real world for many years are saying that it has even helped them immensely! Note From Joe I am so excited about the opportunity to write this book. As I travel the nation speaking and teaching about personal finances, it has become incredibly clear to me that there is a severe lack of personal finance education in our schools and families. I want to see people live financially free lives, and helping people prevent financial mistakes is essential to ensuring to our passion of helping others accomplish far more than they ever thought possible with their personal finances.

Joseph Sangl is the founder of I Was Broke. Now I m Not., an organization that is passionate about helping others accomplish far more than they ever thought possible. Joe obtained a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1996 and an MBA from Clemson University in 2001. From 1996 to 2006, he worked in corporate America for two Fortunie 250 companies. During this time, Joe held engineering and management positions, but was feeling called to help others with their personal finances. In 2003 he began teaching personal finance courses and conducting one-on-one financial counseling. In September 2006 Joe fired himself from corporate America and embarked on a crusade to help others with their personal finances. Since that time, Joe has taught thousands of people through his Financial Freedom Experiences, Financial Learning Experiences, one-on-one financial counseling sessions, and personal finance messages. He has also been featured in Money Magazine (July 2008) and writes a weekly business column called Money Help . By purchasing What Everyone Should Know About Money Before They Enter THE REAL WORLD, you are helping the IWBNIN team accomplish their mission of teaching over 100,000 people by October 2011.
I cannot recommend highly enough that you not just read this book, but rather use it as a tool to assist you in building a financial foundation that will allow you to live in freedom no matter what the economy does. This book isn't just full of good ideas; but rather truths that, if applied, will transform the way you view finances and allow you to focus on the future with anticipation rather than regret. --- Perry Noble, Senior Pastor, NewSpring Church, Anderson, SC
Joe has a true passion to help others win with money. This book is a must-read for everyone who wants to succeed with their money. I can only wish I had read it 30 years ago. --- Dean Herman, Senior Pastor, 5 Point Fellowship, Easley, SC
This is the first book on personal finances that I have actually read from cover to cover. As I read it, three words came to mind ... Inspirational, Practical and Doable! Joe does a great job of putting the cookies on the bottom shelf. This book gives you not only the knowledge but also the next steps to win with your money! My only disappointment about the book is that it wasn't around for me to read when I was 18. Thanks to Joe Sangl and his resources my family was able to dig out of nine years of debt in only 18 months. This is a must read book regardless of whether you are 18 or 33. - --Jeff Kapusta, Lead Pastor, Lifepoint Church, Wilmington, NC
