Review:

''Beer FAQ: All That's Left to Know About the World's Most Celebrated Adult Beverage'' by Jeff Cioletti is a straight-forward and always entertaining guide to the world of beer that answers all those burning questions. Everything from beer's many styles and ingredients, to the countless traditions that drive the world's most popular beverage...''Beer FAQ'' is the ultimate beer resource, and it may well be the last book about beer that you ll ever need. --American Craft Beer

Beer FAQ: All That's Left to Know About the World's Most Celebrated Adult Beverage lives up to its title as an all-encompassing guide to the beloved, celebrated, and widely enjoyed alcoholic beverage that is beer. Chapters discuss the ingredients of and craft of brewing beer, the history of beer creation and consumption worldwide, the evolution of modern beer packaging, beer in film and television, the most highly regarded beer bars in the world, and much more. A handful of black-and-white as well as a few color photographs, plus a bibliography and an index, round out this accessible, go-to guide written by a beer lover (Jeff Cioletti, whose beer credentials include serving as the creator and host of the weekly web beverage news show "The Drinkable Week"), for beer lovers. - Midwest Book Reviews

As the title suggests, this 408-page no-nonsense guide to the world of beer answers the most common questions many have about the diverse array of styles, ingredients, and international brewing and drinking traditions. But don't let the title lead you to believe that he book is simplistic. Rather, with great detail it delves into topics including beer traditions, beer styles, the history of beer in the US, how beer is made, an explanation of the three-tier system, the evolution of modern beer packaging, proper glassware, a guide to the best beer bars, beer cocktails, beer festivals, and homebrewing. --The Las Vegas Food & Beverage Professional

"[Beer FAQ] contains all the essential answers to common questions about the history of beer, the differences between ales and lagers, and how to choose the right beer glass. And with colorful descriptions of pioneering breweries and some of the best beer bars in the U.S., Beer FAQ is a smart addition to your beer library." - All About Beer

As the title suggests, this addition to the FAQ line of reference books goes deeper than so many of the Beer 101 s that everyone with a byline and a grasp of the brewing process felt compelled to write in the first half of this decade. Instead, it reads more like the blue-square ski trail of the beer-book world: an intermediate reference guide that provides more detail than an intro (with a list of common types of barley and hops, with brief descriptions, for example) but not as much complexity as an academic text. Written by a highly regarded beer journalist and author, this engaging read will find a perfect home with any beyond-the-basics drinker who wants a one-stop shop for everything from the best beer bar in Stockholm to the politics behind The Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act. --Forbes.Com
