Synopsis

Light of the Andes is a spiritual journey to the most sacred mountain of the Incas, Apu Ausangate, to learn the true secret of the Andes. After a series of dreamlike encounters with mystical beings in Peru, J. E. Williams (aka Santiago) and his mentor, the Q'ero shaman Sebastian, are ushered to the glacial sloops of Ausangate. On these remote sloops, he is physically tested to his physical and mental limits by the effects of high altitude, cold, and isolation. Then, after a series of traditional preparatory rituals, he encounters the deity in an unexpected way. About the Author

Dr. J. E. Williams is the author of The Andean Codex, three works on integrative medicine, and one book of poetry. He was written about Earth-based teachings and sustainable society in Shaman's Drum, Herbal Gram, Sacred Hoop, Body and Soul, and other new thought publications. Since 1967, he has lived and worked with indigenous tribes to protect and preserve culture, environment, and intellectual rights. He is the founder of Ayniglobal, a non-profit organization dedicated to principle-guided living, and personal and planetary change. He lives on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida and spends as much time in the wilderness of the Peruvian Andes and Amazon as possible.
