Synopsis
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Mathematics are curriculum standards that describe the mathematics skills and concepts students need to develop for success in higher education and the 21st-century workplace. About the Authors
The Center for Gifted Education (CFGE) is a research and development center providing services to educators, policy-makers, graduate students, researchers, and parents in support of the needs of gifted and talented individuals. Located in Williamsburg, VA, the CFGE has established an international reputation for excellence in research, curriculum development, and service.
Margaret Jess McKowen Patti is a third- and fourth-grade teacher of gifted students at Zachary Elementary School in Louisiana, where she recently received the Zachary Community School District Teacher of the Year. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University, earning her bachelor's in elementary education and her master's in special education/gifted education.
