Review:

"Everyday Lace is, as its subtitle states, a collection of simple, sophisticated knitted garments, very much in keeping with the promise of that first (for me anyway) design. Like Dahlia, the garments and accessories of Everyday Lace incorporate lace in clever and unpredictable ways. My favorites are the Ephrata camisole (cover design), with its gorgeous all-over lace and a fun sideways-knitted border; and the Kirkwood vest, a simple and completely reversible vest with great drape. I'm also in love with the two lace berets--Salunga and Murrell." --Connie Chang Chin Chio

"The design, layout, and photography of Everyday Lace is gorgeous and romantic, in keeping with the designs and Heather's style." --Sunset Cat Designs

"Heather lays things out so clearly that i found myself wondering 'what am i so afraid of?'. I mean, why am I willing to rip out 12 rows to fix a cable but terrified of having to pull out 3 rows to a lifeline for correcting a lace mistake?" --Talitha Kuomi Design

"Everyday Lace offers knitters a clear vision of making beautiful lace garments and accessories with a new collection sure to inspire." --All Points Yarn

"This book is completely full of beautiful lace. Creative, interesting lace." --Knitting Like Crazy

"Each garment is well photographed in different poses providing knitters an accurate view of the finished item. Line drawing schematics show exact measurements and layouts of the larger designs allowing adventurous knitters to substitute different yarns without sacrificing fit. The glossary is packed with plenty of helpful information including abbreviations and an extensive assemblage of techniques well illustrated with line drawings, all of which make this is a strong collection with broad appeal." --Good Reads

"Heather has a wonderful intuitive sense of how to employ the unique qualities of handknit lace. Whether for drape, texture, accent, or structure, Heather inserts the perfect stitch pattern for each design's silhouette and form." --Slate Falls Press

"The patterns in this book span the seasons and are divided into Warm, Transitional and Cold. Most are that wonderful type of lace knitting that look much more complex than the knitting actually is. So if you are a beginning or close-to-beginning knitter, do not pass up this book -- there are many patterns in her for you." --Knitty.com

"I especially liked the discussion of chart reading, blocking techniques, and the use of lifelines. I haven't seen these in too many books and they are certainly important to know." --Knit and Travel and Such

"The headband would make a great introduction to lace knitting for the novice. The book has the usual added features such as clear explanations of specific techniques, such as buttonholes, special cast ons and bind offs, and special stitches. I especially liked the discussion of chart reading, blocking techniques, and the use of lifelines. I haven't seen these in too many books and they are certainly important to know." --Brenda Castiel Design's eNewsletter
