Matt Buchanan has been working in the field of theatre with and for young people for more than 30 years, as a stage director, music director, playwright and composer. He has directed well over 100 stage productions with young casts in community groups, universities, and as a member of several school fine arts programs, two of which he chaired. He is the author of a comprehensive K-12 dramatic arts curriculum that is in use in a number of schools. His more than two dozen published plays and musicals for young performers have been performed throughout the United States and on every continent but Antarctica. He holds a BA in music from Harvard College and an MFA in Child Drama from the University of Texas, and has received additional training in directing at Moorhead State University in Minnesota, in dance at Baylor University and in education at Auburn University at Montgomery. He currently lives and works in New England.
