Full orchestral score of Stravinsky's ballet The Rite of Spring.
When it premiered, The Rite of Spring caused an uproar in the audience, partly due to the avant-garde nature of the music, and partly due to two opposed factions of audience members--one traditional, one "Bohemian," favoring the new and daring. But the music was soon recognized for its brilliance, and has become one of the most influential works of the 20th century.
Like all Polonius editions, this score is printed on ultra-smooth, heavy, cream-colored paper. Musicians will delight in the spiral binding, which allows the score to lie flat when opened to any page.
