They walk among us as if they're gods.
Only we know what they are.
Only we know to fear them.
And only we can defeat them.

My name is Juliet Wildfire Stone, and I barely escaped my sleepy Arizona town alive. A Seeker almost murdered me. Lucky for me, I killed him first. I thought that was my test--that was my destiny--but it seems as though fate isn't done with me yet.

I'm a Chosen, a human-alien hybrid. There are three others like me, each with different abilities. I have to find them, and all I have to go on is a weird symbol, and a location--New York City. Hopefully my best friend Troy and I can figure out the rest once we get there.

An alien race is plotting to enslave the world, and only the Chosen can stop them. We'll have to kill their leader before he kills us. We'll all be tested, our flaws exposed. Each one of us will learn what, or who, we really care about, and we'll have to decide whether to fulfill our destiny... or run.

Those helping us have told me I'm the Alpha and only I can lead the others, but how can I trust these people I've never met? I don't know much about my powers or my potential, buy I do know one thing--I'll do anything to stop these aliens. I will not give up. Even if I die trying.

Brink of Dawn picks up where the multiple-award-winning first book in the Chosen series, Wind Catcher
, left off, but it can also be read as a stand-alone novel. Continue the adventure!

About the Author:
Brink of Dawn is a joint project between the father/daughter team of Jeff and Erynn Altabef. Jeff is an award-winning author who has two published thrillers along with Wind Catcher and Brink of Dawn. He also has a column with The Examiner focused on writing. In addition to co-authoring the Chosen series, Erynn is an avid reader, dancer, and community activist who recently earned her Girl Scout Gold Award by establishing a community garden to combat food insecurity in her neighborhood.
The Chosen series has taken the duo down many twisting and unexpected paths. They are particularly proud of the modern Native American themes that coarse through the series's veins. Too little is written or understood about such a fascinating culture. While this journey has not always been the smoothest (you can imagine some of their disagreements) both would not change the experience for anything in the world. Well, except maybe a movie deal!
