As a former stripper, Erika Lyremark has seen it all: disrespectful club managers, cutthroat dancers, and a never-ending supply of sleazeballs. Not to mention thousands of hours in six-inch stilettos.
Nine years in the industry left her with no desire to ever return; but her experiences there—more than either of the college degrees her stripping career paid for—proved to be her real education. By the time she walked away from the pole, she was more prepared for success than she could have ever imagined. Beneath the stigma of this enigmatic industry, Erika uncovered the secrets of success:
Remove the safety net and embrace risk--victory will be yours.
Ask for the dance, and an influx of new business will follow.
Say yes to yourself, and you'll inspire those around you to help your business grow.
Think Like A Stripper is an insider's pass into an infamous industry you'll probably never be part of—but could stand to learn a lot from. Whether your goal is to build your business, increase your sales, or achieve your dreams, Erika delivers the lessons you need to thrive as an entrepreneur.
Filled with hilarious anecdotes, whip-smart tales & cheeky stories, this book will have you laughing your panties off, calling up your girlfriend to share your 'ah-has' and teaching you things you NEVER learned in business school - but should have.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Think Like A Stripper was released in 2013. Some examples and references are outdated. And some of the language came from a place of ignorance and does not reflect my current thinking. I will update the content when the second edition or the podcast version is released--whichever comes first. So for now, glean the good from it, and toss the rest.

I knew I was meant to be an entrepreneur (or a circus performer) when I let my brother throw a pie in my face for $5--then started my first business at the age of seven when I talked my Mom into paying me to memorize Bible verses. Wheeling & dealing my way through high-school (staking my independence by moving into my own bachelorette pad before I even graduated), I went on to earn degrees in Apparel Design and Women Studies (with an emphasis on China Studies), spent 9 years swinging around a stripper pole, then co-created a multi-million dollar commercial real-estate investment company, and founded The Daily Whip in 2009 where I've whipped thousands of entrepreneurs into shape with my unconventional ideas and alluring advice.
I documented my experiences in my best-selling book Think Like A Stripper, lauded by Dan Pink as "a smart and provocative read", while Shark Tank's Barbara Corcoran says "Erika will not only whip you into shape with her wit, humor, and no-nonsense advice, but show you how to bounce back from failure and become the confident sales superstar you're meant to be."
I spend my leisure time...
Watching reruns of the original Gossip Girl,
Going out to dinner with my hunky husband,
Admiring photos of Elo - my adopted orangutan who lives in Indonesia.
And texting the Bugatti headquarters with suggestions on what to call the next generation of sports coupes. The Lyremark, of course.
