About the Author

The completion of For Only A Season marks the realization of a lifelong dream for Charles R. Butts, Jr., a former soldier in the U.S. Army and a postal employee for thirty-one years. When he's not reading, writing or working out, Charles enjoys spending time with Shawanda, his wife of twenty years, and his children Amber and Trey. His writing influences are Langston Hughes, whose poems tell riveting stories, and Walter Mosley, whose ability to align myriad and exciting characters into a single thread have always been a great source of inspiration. Through his writing, Charles hopes above all to entertain and provoke thought in the reader. For Only A Season is his first novel.
