About the Author

* I have written articles, speeches, and an educational dental video script, but this is my first book. My qualification to write this story is that it is based on the true story of my daughter's struggles and fight for life in her early 20's. * My family's Christian faith has always been the backbone of the family, but when our only daughter went through her ordeals we were all face-to-face with death and miracles over a three year span. * I live in Southeast Missouri close to the Mississippi River. I have been married to my husband, Cary, for 40 years. We have two children, Matthew 37, and Cara 35; five grandchildren, Austin 17, Molly 16, Carson 13, Lane 13, and Mia 8 years old. I worked in the dental field for 18 years and patented the Plak-Vac, the first suction toothbrush to care for patients that are unable to care for their own mouth without the fear of aspiration. Now I help the company that purchased the patent with marketing and education for long-term care facilities and home care. My biggest writing project yet was the script for the educational video that featured the Plak-Vac. This book, "Sara's Turn of the Century", was ten years in the making. I was too busy being mom and grandma to write very often. When things settled down a little is when I really started to get busy with it. I finally finished while being flat of my back after back surgery! I sincerely hope my readers enjoy the story.
