Iza Trapani was just seven years old when she and her mother left Warsaw, Poland, for the United States. An award-winning writer and illustrator, Trapani’s work has been featured on PBS Storytime and at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She also received the Rip Van Winkle Award, presented by the School Library Media Specialists of Southeastern New York, for her contribution to children’s literature. Her bestselling book, The Itsy-Bitsy Spider, has sold more than one million copies. She resides in Woodstock, New York.

Children can view a variety of perspectives, such as the child falling head first into water, exposing only her black shoes and drenched pantaloons. Group leaders can use this story to guide the audience as they act out the abundance of action words with the verses.
