PreS-K—Footie pajamas, a stuffy, and a bed begin this bedtime tale. When it is time for sleep, it is also time for dreaming. What do animals see in their dreams? Kittens dream of milk, yarn, and snoozing with you. Turtles, chipmunks, robins, fishes, horses, tadpoles, bunnies, fireflies, and puppies dream their special dreams, too. All the animals' dreams have one thing in common: they dream of you. The prose consists of the same three sentences on each page, customized for each animal. The refrain invites readers to imagine what animals see in their dreams. This repetition is broken at the last few pages when the sun rises and dreams are just for remembering. Mixed media illustrations, each dedicated to a different type of creature, depict the animals doing what they do best. The horses gallop on a field and the bunnies snooze in a meadow and so forth. While the prose mentions "you"—readers—on most every page, the animals and their sweet, baby faces are the main characters.
