About the Author

Rita Men, Ph.D., APR, is an assistant professor of public relations at the University of Florida. As a nationally recognized scholar in internal communication, she has published over 20 articles in leading refereed journals (e.g., Journal of Public Relations Research, Management Communication Quarterly, Public Relations Review) and books. She has received numerous national and international awards and grants from the International Communication Association, Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, International Public Relations Research Conference, Center for Global Public Relations, Arthur Page Center, and Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations. She is the 2010 recipient of the Ketchum Excellence in Public Relations Research Award from the Institute for Public Relations (IPR). Her professional experience includes corporate communications, branding, and public relations research. She has worked internationally with Ketchum, Inc. and Alibaba Group, Inc., and provided communication consultancy for multiple multinational corporations and non-profit organizations. She is an advisory board member and former co-organizer of the International Public Relations Research Conference. She also serves as Research Editor for the Institute for Public Relations’ Organizational Communication Research Center. She holds a Ph. D in Communication from the University of Miami, USA, an M.Phil in Public Relations from Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, and a BA in International Communication from Zhejiang University, China,
