This book is intended for petroleum engineering public in the field of well test interpretation. Most literature deals with interpretation pressure tests by either conventional analysis or type-curve matching, tools which have limitations compared to the powerful TDS Technique which pioneer paper is referred below.

Dr. Escobar is a Colombian Petroleum Engineer who completed his B.S. studies in Universidad de America(Bogotá-Colombia, 1989), MSc degree (1995) with emphasis in reservoirsimulation and a PhD (2002) emphasis in well test analysis, both from theUniversity of Oklahoma. All his degrees are in Petroleum Engineering.
Dr. Escobar is a professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering inUniversidad Surcolombiana, USCO (Neiva-Colombia) where he has taught all thecourses in the reservoir engineering area. During 2015ahe was a Visiting Professor in the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and GeologicalEngineering School of the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Escobar was Vice Presidennt for Research and SocialDevelopment of USCO. I He is also involved with two Catholic organizations.
He has worked as Advisor for Engineering and Special Projects forthe firm Hydrocarbon Services and Colregistros S.A. Since August 2011, Dr. Escobar works for Petrogroup -Training and Consulting Company as specialized consultant. He is also acertified instructor of Schlumberger-NeXT.
Dr. Escobar is Peer Review of eightinternational technical journals. Heserves as member of editorial committee of Inventi |Spreading Knowledge. He has authored and coauthored85 peer-reviewed papers, 26 SPE papers, 27 articles in several Colombianjournals, 3 articles in the Colombian Petroleum Conferences, two chapters ininternational books and three research books (Spanish) and three textbooks(Spanish). He was invited to publish two new different chapters in twodifferent books. He holds two technological products. He also possesses an H-7index in both the Scopus database and ResearchGate with 93 documents. He is currently the Faculty Sponsor SPEstudent Chapter Universidad Surcolombiana (USCO) and served as member ofthe SPE Formation Evaluation Award Committeefrom Sep. 2013-Sep. 2016.
