About the Author
I first arrived in Ecuador in 2012 with a suitcase and a half-baked idea to travel and practice Spanish for three months. I was immediately fascinated by the culture, natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle. My big breakthrough came when a Galapagos tourism company hired me to write their travel blog. I was thrilled to find a reason to stay in Ecuador and make regular trips to the islands. Three months quickly turned into three years.
I'm an animal lover and literal tree-hugger, so the Galapagos is my dream destination. I learned to navigate the local mercados, biked across the islands, swam with sharks, and climbed volcanos. The changing seasons, animal life cycles, and ongoing conservation research on the islands means there is always something new to see and learn.
