Synopsis

A renovation project. A body in the basement. And a past neither of them is ready to face.

Interior designer Lisa Reno already has enough on her plate when her contractor brother falls from a ladder and breaks his leg. Now she’s left juggling a renovation, an overly enthusiastic matchmaking best friend, and memories from the past she’d rather keep buried.

Then a corpse turns up in the cellar.

Nick Woodward only agreed to help as a favor to his old college roommate. Renovating a family property should be straightforward, and after losing his wife and unborn child, straightforward is exactly what he wants. He’s kept his distance from relationships, from hope, and especially from God.

But working alongside Lisa changes things.

As questions surrounding the mysterious death begin to surface, Lisa and Nick are drawn deeper into the secrets surrounding the old house — and closer to each other. Lisa may be ready to rebuild more than a neglected property, but Nick isn’t sure he can risk opening his heart again.

With the past refusing to stay buried, they’ll have to decide whether healing is possible … and whether love and faith can restore what grief has broken.

A Christian romantic mystery filled with old secrets, second chances, faith, and a romance neither of them saw coming
