Synopsis
Families in most cases have the emotional tools to help their children through milestones of growth. Others do not have the emotional tools. With each milestone I had to face, I faced alone. When I transitioned from childhood to adolescence, I was deficient in many ways. and was never validated. I entered the State Hospital with the Green Walls and Brown doors. They were everywhere you went. From age 12 to 17 I stared at those walls and the secrets they held. From the Hospital, my care transferred into the hands of relatives. They sent me to a cult down south. They did horrible things to me in the name of Jesus. I escaped from there and soon my life began to turn for the better. I realized I had hope. Hope is not just one word. It is determination, courage, and spirituality. It is the gift of sweetness and the essence of life. Come join me reading my book. It may help you or a loved one. About the Author
Am now 64 years old and live in a Nursing Home. For 15 years as an Executive Director I spent years helping consumers of Mental Health by shining a light on their path as they found their way out.I met many wonderful people on my journey and will never forget them. They also helped me, reminding me I am not defined by my label.
