Synopsis

ANTHONY L. HALL takes aim at the global events of 2020 with a unique and refreshing perspective. Among many, wide-ranging topics, he explains why mandating lockdowns to combat Covid-19 makes about as much sense as it would've been to mandate sexual abstinence to fight HIV; why even the Roman Empire was never the dysfunctional mess the United States was under President Trump; why Kim Jong-un was left feeling like a woman scorned after his nuclear affair with Trump; why Britons will feel about Meghan breaking up the royals the way they felt about Yoko breaking up the Beatles; why 'The Last Dance' showed Michael as the NBA's GOAT, but Pippen as the greatest goat of all time; why quarantining millions of Uyghurs for years prepared China to lockdown its citizens with Nazi-like efficiency; why even Christ could not break the cult-like loyalty Republicans show their two-legged golden calf; why the more Trump humiliates white Republican men the more they like him; why Black men seem so willing to cede the role of protecting their own communities to white men; and why sales of Mary Trump's tell-all could make her the richest Trump of them all.

From the Back Cover

ANTHONY L. HALL takes aim at the global events of2020 with a unique and refreshing perspective. Some of the topics in thisvolume include:

Governments ordering lockdowns to combat Covid-19

"Telling people to lockdown to combat Covid makes about asmuch sense as it would've been to tell people to stop having sex to fight HIV.... Mandating wearing masks, like wearing seatbelts (or promoting the use ofmasks, like the use of condoms), would have been a lot cheaper and more effective."

Trump failing to defend America against Russian cyberattacks

"America is now a certifiably dysfunctional, dystopian, anddefenseless mess. Superpower?! Hell, even the Roman Empire was never this, er,messed up before the fall. Evidently that 'shining city on a hill' was just theflickering embers of a supernova."

Kim declaring nuclear deal with Trump a bust

"Kim Jong-un is feeling like a woman scorned. Never mindthat he behaved throughout his aff air with Donald Trump like a shrew--toouptight to screw."

Harry and Meghan announcing split from royal family

"Most Britons will feel about Meghan breaking up the royalsthe way they felt about Yoko breaking up the Beatles."

'The Last Dance' revealing how Bulls paid Jordan like aking, Pippen like a pauper

"Michael is clearly the NBA's GOAT. Unfortunately, Pippen isarguably its greatest goat of all time."

Chinese leaders quarantining millions to contain Covid-19

"Practice from quarantining millions of Uyghur Muslims foryears in religious-cleansing camps means that they are doing so in this casewith Nazi-like efficiency."

Democrats trying to impeach Trump

"Even if lead House manager Rep. Adam Schiff were Christincarnate, he would still be unable to break the cult-like loyalty Republicansshow their two-legged golden calf."

Republicans bending over to be cuckolded by Trump

"The more he humiliates white Republican men the more theylike him. Hell, some like Senator Ted Cruz of Texas even like him when hehumiliates their wives, which puts a fetishistic twist on cuckoldry that isjust too perverse for words."

White cops patrolling Black communities

"It's a curious thing that Black men seem so willing to cedethat role (of protecting their own) to white men, who seem all too eager topatrol Black communities like invading soldiers."

Mary Trump's tell-all selling like hotcakes

"Given the egregious way Donald exaggerates his wealth, theirony cannot be lost on Mary that this book could make her the richest Trump ofthem all. It might not be revenge, but it would be sweet."

From the Inside Flap

The Covid-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter protests, and US presidential election figure most prominently in this volume. But Hall also comments on the other global events of 2020. They include President Trump easing tensions in the Mideast by helping Israel normalize ties with select Arab nations, but increasing them by assassinating Iran's spymaster; Africans migrating (with many dying) for a better life in Europe; China defying Britain to assert dominion over Hong Kong; Megxit rivaling Brexit as the sun continues setting on the British Empire; Boy Scouts rivaling the Catholic Church as claims of child sex abuse continue to beset their respective organizations; wildfires and hurricanes portending the existential doom of climate change; sports teams competing in Covid bubbles and empty stadiums; Grammys and other award shows falling into irrelevance; Facebook facilitating more political lies than personal ties; famous people dying; and many more.

Thought-provoking, informative, and entertaining, this volume of The iPINIONS Journal serves as a reliable source of reflection and commentary on the major events of 2020.
