How THE SCOTT BOYS approach the decision to fight, how they react during events, and how they face the fears and the mental challenges of war are presented with the realization that none of us knows for certain what those feelings were like in 1860. About this title

From the Inside Flap

The photo on the cover is one that I made at Andersonville Prison Cemetery. Over thirteen thousand men are buried there, all dying in just over fourteen months. The grave stone on the bottom left corner of the cover is that of my Great Great Grandfather's youngest brother, Robert Lafayette Scott. He was captured at the Battle of Big Creek, interred first at Belle Isle in Richmond, Virginia, subsequently transferred to Camp Sumpter where he passed away from disease. He is grave number 776. The only brother to have died during the war.
