Synopsis
An Unlikely Companion is a collection of powerful work hand-picked by editor Brian James Lewis from works submitted to Spark: A Creative Anthology. Imaginative, gripping, and at times transgressive, these selections often fell outside Spark's guidelines or audience goals and yet, each was compelling and deserved publication.
The pieces in this collection are included by personal invitation from Brian.
The first author invited to participate in this project was Travis Hubbs, a professor of English and a PhD candidate at Louisiana State University. His passion and enthusiasm for writing fiction inspired many others and continues to do so. This collection is published in his memory.

About the Author
Travis Hubbs was a professor of English and a PhD candidate at Louisiana State University working in contemporary theory and continental philosophy. He designed the unique LSU course Critical Strategies, Philosophy & Literature in the 20th Century around his combined passions.
You can find his work in A Cappella Zoo, Blue Lake Review, the American Literary Review blog, and several others. He loved writing provocative fiction and sharing his enthusiasm with others. Working with Travis to prepare this work for publication was an honor, and so the collection An Unlikely Companion is published in his memory.
