Nima Veiseh is an academic researcher, designer and TED Speaker, who focuses on how economic progress is affected by institutional and technological change. His research and world view are informed by visits to more than 50 countries. A Chief Data Advisor for several companies and organizations, Veiseh leads an effort that uses machine learning to push the frontier of infrastructure accountability, pricing theory and sustainability across multiple industries. His ability to dissect systems comes from a rare neurological condition called hyperthymesia, known to affect approximately 50 people worldwide, where Veiseh's memories are recalled as if rewinding and playing a videotape that has daily recorded his life since the age of 15. His work on memory and design has been featured across the world, including at Art Basel. He resides in New York City, and has trained at the Arts League of New York, The George Washington University, Georgetown University, Columbia University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
