Synopsis

... Life is simple, we complicate it!..

We are born free, and our natural behavior is to stay happy and to love. As we grow, we are FORCED to behave in a certain way. In other words, we got CONDITIONED to react in a way that society i.e. our family, friends, and others want. To return to our true state of being—one that is happy and loving—we must let go of all the learned behaviors and beliefs that have shaped us. In psychology, this process is called "deconditioning".

The most effective method for deconditioning yourself and acquiring new behaviors is to "EXPERIMENT - The Mantra for emotional control." This technique is both powerful and simple, and this book provides an in-depth guide on how to master it.

Using that technique as your foundation, you should build FOUR pillars of happiness. This book guides you through that process step-by-step. The four pillars of happiness are:

1st Pillar - Be Fearless
2nd Pillar - Be Assertive
3rd Pillar - Manage Expectations
4th Pillar - Practice Detachment

On your journey to happiness, it's important to understand and embrace the concept of being "Selfishk" (self + Ishk, meaning self-love), which means nurturing self-love without inflicting harm on others. Before you begin this journey, dispelling THREE key myths will ease the process. They are:

1. "Money Cannot Buy Happiness"
2. "Making Others Happy Gives You the Best Happiness!"
3. "Seeking Pleasures Leads You Away from the Path of Happiness!"

Contrary to general belief, the ONLY thing you CAN have FULL CONTROL over is... your EMOTIONS, thus your Happiness. It is never too late to learn how to be Happy. The author, a software engineer from a middle-class family, married with two children, reached nearly 100% happiness by age 35. If he can achieve this while balancing work and family life challenges, you can too.

From the Back Cover

Happiness has been an enigma. Many Religions, and recently Positive Psychology have been preaching to the public WHAT to do to get a dose of happiness. The unfortunate reality is that each of us has our daily struggles in work & and personal life, and we find it difficult to practise what they preach. Apart from that, most of them give us temporary relief rather than eternal happiness.

The author too had struggled to stay happy when he faced a major dilemma about life in his early twenties. He did an extensive study to understand life and happiness. He applied that wisdom to his personal life and achieved almost 100% happiness at a young age. This book communicates that rationally; and provides a systematic approach based on modern Psychology to gain control over your happiness.

Contrary to the "set-point theory of happiness", you can raise your level of happiness irrespective of your race/genes. While on this journey of eternal happiness, you will gain control over your emotions. The emotional control you gain will help you succeed in all your endeavors.
