Synopsis
Jamie's fifth story set in Victorian England sees him maturing into a compassionate young man. When a train ride with his brother, Daniel, ends in disaster, Jamie finds himself in possession of a wad of money, presenting him with a dilemma - should he keep it or hand it in to the police? Then, with his intention to marry Maisie still at the forefront of his mind, Jamie's plans go awry when she tells him she fancies a stable hand, and further romantic complications arrive in the form of a new neighbour. Will he honour the promise he made to save his friend from a life of servitude, or will he succumb to the wiles of Hetty Barwise? Will Jamie find the rewards he is looking for?
