Synopsis
Robert E. Howard's classic tale of the adventures of his famous hero, Conan the Barbarian (also known as Conan the Cimmerian). Conan, having become King of Aquilonia, is beset by plotting enemies. Using necromancy to resurrect the long-dead sorcerer Xaltotun, Conan's enemies seek to replace him as king with Valerius. With the dark magic of Xaltotun, the rival kingdom of Nemedia defeats the Aquilonian army and imprisons Conan. Escaping his dungeon imprisonment, Conan goes on a quest throughout the lands of Hyboria to find the Heart of Ahriman, which will give him the power to defeat Xaltotun and save his kingdom. Robert E. Howard is often considered the father of the "sword and sorcery" genre of fiction, of which Conan has remained an enduring hero. "Conan the Conqueror" was also published under the title "The Hour of the Dragon".
