About the Author:
Ruth Giachino Zavitsanos began writing at the age of 12. Growing up outside of New York City, she attended many Broadway plays and musicals that served to stimulate her imagination. While attaining her Journalism Degree at Marshall University she received numerous writing awards. After graduation she maintained her desire to write by editing and writing for corporate bulletins, school newsletters, and the local newspaper. She has been published in Writer’s Digest magazine and had an in-depth article in a regional magazine. She is also a HuffPost Blogger. In addition to Flight of Little Dove, the second book in the Frontier Series, Sisters Inn, was recently released to high acclaim. She also has a women’s fiction series, New York Through the Times, with two titles, Sight Unseen In the City and A Life Unfolds In the City. She is currently working on An Unexpected Day In the City for this series. For her Dog Tales Series, Ruth has released four children’s chapter books. The Villa Dog, The Old Fortress Dog, The Kona Dog and The Valley Forge Dog are all told through the dog’s perspective and take place in exotic settings. Ruth enjoys cooking, reading, music, photography, bicycle rides, hiking, snorkeling, walks with her dogs, and travel. She and her family currently reside outside of Philadelphia.
