This book is designed to make you very familiar with the application process and develop a personalized plan that will culminate in successful entry into medical school. Gaining admittance into medical school is a very competitive process and requires years of careful planning and execution.
How to Get Into Medical School provides students with:
- knowledge and advice on how to spend their time before, during, and after the application process.
- Tools to help pre med students succeed
- Experience logs
- Yearly course plans for Bachelor’s students
- Prepare medical school interview questions
- Detailed yearly checklist
- And much more!
This book provides a unique perspective on the medical school process, as the creator is currently a medical student and just recently completed the application process. Most courses are designed by physicians or medical school admissions personnel. While their perspectives are worthwhile and valid, physicians have not gone through the application process in quite some time and admissions personnel may have never gone through the process. The value of the author’s perspective is derived from his recent exposure to numerous medical school’s application processes. He is able to provide a detailed and insightful take on the application process and what it takes to be successful because his experiences are still fresh in his memory.
About the author: Ernie Morton is currently a medical student who had to learn much of the information regarding medical school admissions the hard way. As a pre-med student, Ernie struggled to find comprehensive and concise information regarding the application process. It is his goal to help pre-med students understand the medical school application process, make the most of their time during undergraduate years, and increase their chances for admittance.

Ernie Morton has always had a passion for science and helping others. This has led him to pursue a career as a physician where he will be able to combine his passions in order to improve the quality of people’s lives. Ernie began his journey toward becoming a physician by earning a B.S. in Biomedical Science. After earning his bachelor’s degree Ernie attended a master’s program where he earned a M.S. in Biomedical Science. After completion of his M.S. Ernie was granted admittance into medical school and is now enrolled in a dual-degree program at his medical school, pursuing his MD and MBA. His family works in the public services and business sectors thus he was never exposed to physicians, their work environment, nor their career pathways. As a medical student coming from a family of non-physicians much of the application process was a learn-as-you-go experience for Ernie. Not being familiar with the process and having no family members who were familiar either, Ernie was forced to spend valuable time investigating the application process. As a pre-med student, in the midst of competing for admission, he realized the need for both a comprehensive overview of the application process and the strategies needed to develop an extremely competitive application. With so much required of pre-med students prior to applying, time is of the essence. Ernie’s goal in writing these books and providing an online course is to help familiarize students with the application process and develop strategies that increase their chances of gaining admittance.
