About the Author

David L. Lowry never set out to be an author but felt compelled to share his life story with the intention of helping others. He set out to do just that in writing his first book, Coming Out. The raw truth and breadth of David’s story explores challenging issues that many people struggle to reconcile in their own lives. His willingness to bear his soul resonates with diverse audiences and draws them in. He has spoken to several groups in recent years and been asked to return. Even those who may not identify specifically with some of David’s past struggles say they feel connected to him and find hope in his story. David believes his personal testimony can reach the hearts of men and women in circumstances of hopelessness and fear, and also speak a message of compassion to the Church. David has been the CEO of a successful business since 1994, with clients and influence throughout his city and region. He has won a number of national and international awards and traveled extensively when sharing his professional expertise. David is the father of three children and an active member in his church.
