A golden retriever puppy comes home to a new family and finds she has a magical ability to communicate with her new human eleven year old sister Bree. She sets out on a journey to become the youngest dog to hold a Master National Retriever title, and must separate from her beloved Bree. During her training she encounters challenges and setbacks that cause her to become discouraged. The odds are against her. Will she reunite with Bree? Will she become the youngest Master National Retriever?

About the Author:
Briana Velarde, is an eleven-year-old student at Orchard Hills in California. “Chasing My Dreams”, takes us into the mind of a young golden retriever named Cassie, who dreams of receiving a Master National retriever title and the wonderful relations she creates along her journey. Briana was inspired to write this story while she was sitting at her desk in class and thinking about her family golden retriever who is living in Virginia training to be the youngest dog to hold the National Hunter title. The author thinks of Cassie’s character as playful, happy, brave, resilient and always excited while also learning many life lessons and how to stick up for herself. Briana enjoys rollerblading with her friends, soccer, reading books, traveling, and is crazy about dogs. She is one of five siblings, and has one other dog named Charlie.
