Synopsis

What started out as a few short stories of some of the adventures I’d experienced throughout my eventful life; a legacy if you like for my young relatives who live in a vastly different world to mine, has blown out of all proportions to my original plan. I felt I needed to show them a world that existed before the internet and virtual reality. However, best laid plans change, pressure and encouragement from friends has resulted in these stories going public. I have spent the last eleven years in voluntary solitude in the central highlands of Tasmania, isolated from the frenetic pace of modern society. This has allowed me to view the past, present and future with a much less cluttered mind. A privilege only bestowed on those willing to face the challenge of solitude. Many would see such a lifestyle as lonely however, one eventually realises that loneliness is only the reflection of a bored mind. What do stories of psychic dogs, buried wartime treasure in Borneo or a lost underground Hospital in New guinea have in common?. They all share the uncomplicated aspects of the duality of life; that is, the physical and metaphysical. The two essential parts of life we all have but in most cases remain disconnected. By remaining so, our lives appear to remain unfulfilled and dominated by the material world with all its heavy and often negative emotions weighing us down. We tend to keep both feet in the physical world where we feels safe. Occasionally we may lift one foot and feel around for something solid in the metaphysical realm; unfortunately, years of conditioning and fear of the unknown has us pulling our foot back into the safe and comfortable physical realm. The solution to obtaining connectedness isn’t difficult; we make it difficult through not understanding how simple the process really is. We turn to books, guru’s or religion, all of which may take us on an external journey and unfortunately often lead us away from achieving the wholeness of being. Some of you may see the stories as yarns from the past whilst others will find the deeper subtle connection between the material and supernatural. Thank you for taking time to read these stories.
