Synopsis

Bernie is a young rescued Scottie. He has just learned about Christmas. But he learned that only good dogs will receive Christmas presents. As he begins to think about the things he has done since coming to his new home, he wonders if he has been a good dog. The more he thinks about it, the more concerned he becomes. Will there be any Christmas for Bernie?! Bernie joined Harry and Lola in 2011. They were a happy pack. Eventually, Harry and Lola joined Starprancer as angels. Jean had to deal with two rounds of cancer and didn’t have the energy for a few years to work with another three-Scottie pack. Then one day a friend sent an email about a bonded pair of Scotties who needed to be rescued. Knowing that it can be difficult to get a bonded pair adopted, Jean and her husband discussed the possibility of adopting the pair. They decided to give it a try and in July 2017, Piper and Chewy joined Bernie to make the three-dog pack complete again. The wonderful organization who sponsored Piper and Chewy is Three Rivers Humane Society, a no-kill rescue organization located in Madras, OR 97741. Because Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is no longer in Oregon, we will donate the profits from this book to Three Rivers Humane Society.

About the Author

Jean writes under the names Jean Nave and Jean Russell Nave. Jean moved full-time to Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon in 1991 when she and her husband retired from “corporate” careers. During her professional life Jean worked in marketing for Xerox and Hewlett Packard. She served as director of marketing for a Portland based high tech company. Eventually she started her own company; Motivational Dynamics, Inc. Jean served as a trainer and keynote speaker at business conferences across the country. She wrote three self-help business books, including Mid-Career Crisis, published by Putnam Publishing, New York. Amazingly, all her books are still for sale on amazon.com. Jean began writing the Harry and Lola series of children’s books to raise money to support Scottie rescue after adopting Harry and Lola in 2010. Jean has been a featured author at Deschutes County Library’s Second Sunday author’s program.
