About the Author:

Douglas Quinn is the author of over 35 books, including the Quinn Higgins Boy Detective series, the Summer McPhee of Ocracoke Island series, the Charles and Hero series and the Little Books for Little Readers series. Kim Colson, Illustrator, was born in Pisa, Italy. Kim graduated from The Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a major in Graphic Design as well as a minor in Art History. She is a designer with experience in federal and state government, education, and finance. Kim also does freelance work, including design of book covers and individual and corporate branding. Photography is one of her passions and she also enjoys the process of fine art. She loves how the image starts to pop from the page as she creates. Her artwork has appeared in regional exhibitions as well as several national publications. This is her fourth children's book. Kim now lives in the metropolitan Washington D. C. area.
