In 2010, Houston, Texas saw the birth of a new poetry journal called Harbinger Asylum. The journal sought to publish poets in Houston as well as internationally to draw attention to the Houston scene. There are also some fascinating established poets whose work deserves attention. Harbinger Asylum seeks original verse about a variety of topics expressed with originality. This journal is a beacon to poetry's destiny worldwide. The United States, while not placing much value on the craft, is turning to read and share poems in recent years. These poems will hone your ambiguity, develop your critical thinking, and induce an eloquent use of language. Reading poetry makes one a better poet.
