The remarkable events described in Bucky and the Lukefahr Ladies: Walking the Labyrinth continue with this sequel. Each week thousands visit the small town of Turn Back, in the eastern Missouri Ozarks, to walk the labyrinth and to dream the dreams. For ten-year-old Bucky, however, the dreams become ominous when a woman she believes to be her mother threatens her life in them. Bucky also loses a little of her innocence when she discovers one of her father’s deepest secrets. Meanwhile her father, Simon, begins experiencing disturbing visions of past lives. Simon believes the Anarianu, who manifest as tiny green points of light, are orchestrating events in Turn Back, but to what end? Are they the benevolent guardians of the springs or do they have a darker side?

"Songs of Three" is the second book of a two-book series set in a fictional small town in the southeastern Missouri Ozarks. The stories are amazing and extremely intriguing and fun to read. This book continues the fantastic fantasy stories of small rural town life in the Ozark Mountains with many surprising twists. From book one ("Bucky and the Lukefahr Ladies: Walking the Labyrinth") the story continues, but in this second book things get much more exciting and a bit dark. There are so many things happening that it is almost impossible to stop reading, even late into the night or early morning. I have enjoyed very much the stories Gilmore tells and how the whole is woven together in a beautiful, ever changing, and unpredictable storyline. I highly recommend this book, as well as the first one, to anyone who enjoys a mixing of rural hometown tensions, a bit of historical intrigue, and fantasy happenings. You might even learn a little French and ancient Hittite. (From Michael Blacksher on Goodreads.com)
