Two Kittens Come Home: A Two Kittens Book, Book 1 is an animal picture book for children written by Carlo A. DeMaio and illustrated by Luis Lopez. Dad had a cool surprise for Lily and her brother, Luke. They would each be able to pick out a kitten of their own from their Aunt Laura's cat's new litter. On Saturday afternoon, the kids and their dad went to meet the kittens who were outside playing in the grass. Lily and Luke wondered how they could ever choose just one kitten each; they were all so cute and playful, but their dad was adamant about that limit. As they played, Lily noticed that one kitten seemed to feel really comfortable with her. The littlest kitten had crawled into her lap, purred and then fallen asleep. At that point, choosing her was easy. Luke had likewise found that the one black kitten was active and mischievous, and they had already begun to enjoy playing together. Since the kittens were still very young, they would have to stay with their mom for another three weeks. Until then, Luke, Lily and their dad would be busy setting up in the house for their new pets.
Carlo A. DeMaio's animal picture book for children, Two Kittens Come Home: A Two Kittens Book, Book 1, offers parents a perfect way to introduce the idea of getting a young child a kitten to grow up with. I loved seeing how the kids learned to interact with the litter and see which kitten seemed to bond with them rather than selecting their kitten on appearance or size. DeMaio also discusses the supplies needed when getting a new pet and the considerations for a litter box, care routine and bed placement which should be determined before bringing home a new animal companion. Luis Lopez's illustrations really make those kittens come to life, and I could visualize kittens and kids happily getting to know each other in real life. Two Kittens Come Home: A Two Kittens Book, Book 1 is most highly recommended.
