Our July 2019 issue (Volume 47, No. 2) of Structure, Function, Integration: Journal of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® continues a theme on the Ten Series of Rolfing® Structural Integration (SI). Was this ten-session series developed by Ida Rolf as a teaching tool, to learn the work and eventually transcend, or does it hold value for practitioners with decades 'in the saddle'? We share both points of view, as well as an array of articles looking at the Series as a whole, or parts of it, with granular detail valuable to both the structural and functional elements of our practice. Our second theme looks at manual therapy for nerves, veins, and arteries, and how Rolfers¿ are bridging these modalities into our work to support SI goals. Our regular columns include contributions from the faculty of the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute® related to both of our themes - the Ten Series as well as bridging additional modalities into our work. Other columns Rolfing SI and Sports and Fascia Insights, look at ultrarunning and the hypothesized biomechanical mechanisms for how Rolfing SI produces its results. Our Perspectives section shares an early essay by Rolf and a modern commentary on it.
