Synopsis

About the Author

Mr. Berman resides in Southern California where he enjoys spending time with his extended family. Since his retirement, and in addition to his work with the Los Angeles Police Department, he has donated time on a weekly basis to assist cancer patients while they are receiving chemotherapy. He considers this activity to be the most emotionally rewarding of his life. He enjoys frequent traveling around the world, and to date has visited more than fifty different countries. He makes it a point to study the world's different cultures, and he makes use of what he learns to enhance the backgrounds of his characters and for locations for his stories.

During his career as a Head Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles, Peter S. Berman oversaw the daily operations in a series of courthouses and specialized divisions, including the Hardcore Gang Division, the Sex Crimes Division, and the Career Criminal Division. He retired in 2002.

He has lectured and trained prosecutors throughout the United States. His work has been profiled on a number of television shows, including DBS's Sixty Minutes. For the past ten years, he donated his time as a specialist Volunteer with LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division, Cold Case Specials Unit, where he investigated unsolved homicide cases. He was honored by the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division as their 2008 Reserve Officer of the Year.
