Moose watches the birds and insects flit and flutter like ballerinas. He sees the stars and moon dance across the sky. Moose wants to dance, too.
But at Miss Melissa's Dance Studio, the other animals tell him he can't dance, and he certainly doesn't have the proper costume. Moose is discouraged.
He practices more and tries one more time to convince Miss Melissa to let him join the dance class.
Miss Melissa finally realizes Moose is a good dancer, just with his own unique style.

Stephanie practices law, writes, and occasionally plays the flute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she lives with her husband, Ted, and a poodle named Gypsy. Stephanie's major accomplishment is rearing two young women who don't let others tell them what they can't do. Many people told Stephanie when she decided to go to law school in the 1970s that she couldn't do it, because she was a woman or because she was shy. She decided to teach her children follow their dreams. ALFRED is a celebration of that independent spirit. You can learn more about her at StephanieTheban.com and you can reach her at StephanieTheban@StephanieTheban.com.
