Bernice Baker Snell was born in New York State, in 1938. She is from a family of eleven children who went through many hardships including being a victim, along with others in her family, of sexual assault. She married in 1956 to her husband (now deceased), and they were married for 57 years. They raised 5 children. She now has 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Bernice always wanted to write a book but never found a topic she felt comfortable in writing. When she was asked to write Megan’s story, she felt privileged and welcomed the challenge. Having experienced a sexual assault in her early life, she is aware of the devastation and life-changing thoughts that influenced her in the raising of her five children. She suffered with the emotions that were the results of her assault and could relate very well to Megan’s emotional experiences. She is honored to write such an important book.
